I’m SO excited to share Ashley and Kevin’s wedding day with you all. We love intimate weddings, as we had one ourselves, and know how truly special they and the people invited are. First of all, do not ever feel bad for wanting to make your wedding exclusive – this is your heart you’re talking about! You totally don’t have to apologize for doing this, and this is the one way you can guarantee that your day will truly be about you two and your love! Being able to spend such precious time with each of your guests is totally a blessing, and we love capturing all the love!
When I met with Ashley and Kevin, and Ashley’s sweet mother, Lynn, at Bits and Beau’s back in January, it felt like home. These people have a way of instantly making you feel connected to them. We talked through ALL their wedding details that they knew at that point, and by the end it truly felt like we were just catching up and planning not talking business. Those are the consults we cherish the most, because it feels like old friends, not business, and those are the kinds of clients we strive to connect with.
I knew that these were things that were priority to them: time with family and friends, capturing heirloom memories, and the details that told the story of their day. I took this knowledge in mind and every photograph I could easily imagine sitting in their heirloom album one day, and ya’ll – that is the most exhilarating feeling! To know that these are the memories that will be passed down generations to generations, and the record keeping that this day happened – ah, I could do it all day!
Enjoy this intimate downtown Charleston wedding, and I hope you love every detail the way we do. I’m so happy for you and your families, Mr. and Mrs. Gillis!
