The real title of this blog should be how to plan a wedding in six days. I’m not joking here. But, before we examine that, let me tell you a little bit about these two.
We met Rebecca and Bobby last October, through The Wedding Connection, a GINORMOUS Facebook group for brides with 65k+ members. I help admin in the group, which you can find here, and being so, I often get referred to brides in the group, since I’m a fairly active member. When Rebecca posted about needing recommendations for photographers and videographers for her Wilmington, NC wedding last October, I don’t know why, but I felt drawn to her. I had just gone full time with the business, and to be honest, was so new still to this whole wedding world.
I’ll never know why, but for some reason we connected, and we had a FaceTime consult with them. Bobby was in Alaska, and Rebecca in Cape Cod (they proudly serve the United States Coast Guard, and while they are finally together in Cape Cod now, they have definitely experienced the pain of being long distance!). Thus, began our story. We laughed over the two infamous Bobby’s in our world, discussed all the wedding plans, and between giggles, a friendship blossomed! Even funnier, our travel schedules came together when they had a trip planned to Jupiter, FL during the same exact weekend we had a wedding in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, making it so easy to stop and do their engagement session on our way down. Talk about God aligning the stars. Everything was perfect with planning, until Hurricane Florence decided to show up on September 15.
Remember how I said they planned a wedding for Wilmington, NC? They were to be wed at Ironclad Brewery on September 22, 2018. Unfortunately, Wilmington is currently suffering through devastating destruction and flooding from Hurricane Florence, and that meant disaster for their long awaited wedding day plans. With limited access to even get into Wilmington, they went into execution mode, and swiftly made the call to try to relocate the wedding somewhere outside of Wilmington. But, how does one plan an entire wedding that was literally planned to the tee in six. entire. days? God sent these two an angel.
This is where it gets good ya’ll… Lavender Oaks Farm truly stepped up to the plate and not only offered to host their wedding, but also took care of the catering, decor, florals, and day of coordination. Karen Macdonald, and her husband own this organic farm, and literally opened their hearts, doors, and all they could offer to this couple. She even coordinated for all the vendors that this sweet couple needed, which thankfully, they could keep their original photo/video team (us!) and DJ (DJ Dean- who was amazing!). As a military mama herself, she felt compelled to help these two have the day they deserve. Bobby and Rebecca literally just had to show up with their family, friends, and outfits. Who knew it was that easy to plan a wedding in six days?!
Seriously, cannot thank this team enough for making sure that Bobby and Rebecca had a perfect wedding day. The day was filled with so much love, happy tears, hugs, and laughter. We’re insanely excited to share their extended sneak peek (because with all they’ve been through, they deserve a little extra!).
Also, we are SO excited to share our first ever video sneak peek! We left ya’ll with a major cliffhanger, OOPS! Scroll to the end to check it out. 😉
How amazing is this suspended cake table?! I am literally obsessed with how this turned out!
